【摘要】:Theabilityofacoatingtoresistprintingisimportantbecauseitsappearanceisadverselyaffectedifthesmoothnessofthecoatingfilmisalteredbycontactwithanothersurface,particularlyonewithatexture.Interiorpaintsystems,particularlyglossandsemiglossonwindowsillsandotherhorizontalsurfaces,oftenhaveobjectssuchasflowerpotsplacedonthemthatmaytendtoleaveapermanentimpression.Thistendencyforapaintfilmtox201C;printx201D;isafunctionofthehardnessofthecoating,thepressure,temperature,humidity,andthedurationoftimethattheobjectisincontactwiththepaintedsurface.1.1Thistestmethodcoversanacceleratedprocedureforevaluatingtheprintresistanceofarchitecturalpaints.ItdiffersfromprintresistanceTestMethodD2091inthatthelatterisconcernedwithlacquerfinishesunderpackaging,shipping,andwarehousingconditions,whereasthistestmethodisconcernedwithdecorativecoatingsundergoingrandomon-sitepressurecontact.Note18212;Printingshouldnotbeconfusedwithblocking,whichismeasuredinTestMethodD4946.Theformerrelatestotheindentationofasurface,andthelatter,thestickingtogetheroftwosurfaces.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
